A food library is a place where foods from all around the world are arranged on shelves. Sometimes known as a Grocery Store. (See also The_Store_with_No_Food In the old days, you used to have to ask the Grocer (Food Librarian) to get the food off the shelf for you. But with capitalism driving the bus, we soon gave way to consumers filling up their own carts. This had the side affect of increasing revenue due to impulse purchases. The trend to get rid of labor continues with self checkouts. Society has blocked this in a way with theft growing as a threat, driving us to full circle where we will have to stand at a giant vending machine that will dispense us our food products.
