A true speedrun is truly the fastest way to beat a video game, as opposed to normal speedrunning. "Speedrunners" spend months or years practicing in order to beat games as fast as possible, when really the fastest way is to play the game once as fast as you can the first time. After you beat the game, playing it again is decreasing your speedrun time but increasing your total play time.

Alternative definition: literally "beat" the game by breaking the console or game disk (fastest method).
